The Assignment
- Write a Thesis driven Paper, video, op-ed, journal write.
- Topic: You decide from the following categories: segregation, immigration, mass culture, new technologies, public education, suffragette movement, conservation and natural resources, prohibition.
- Assignment: Choose ONE of the following:
- Create 4 journal writes using facts/evidence from your book or a credible online source.
- Write a regular thesis driven essay answering a question that you posed from the categories above. Must incorporate facts/evidence from credible online sources.

- Create an op-ed piece (An op-ed (originally short for "opposite the editorial page") is a piece typically published by newspapers, magazines, and the like which expresses the opinions of a named author usually not affiliated with the publication's editorial board.[1] Op-eds are different from both editorials (opinion pieces submitted by editorial board members) and letters to the editor (opinion pieces submitted by readers). Create a piece based on any of the Ted-Ed videos or other videos that you may have found.
